Chef Ron

Interview with Chef Ron

Bonapart2CV: You've specialised over many years in outdoors cooking using fuel stoves, traditional campfires, barbecues, camp ovens and the like - even covered pits, whatever they are -
ChefRon: They're an ancient method of cooking using, well, earth fire and water really. Useful way of cooking for large numbers of folk.
Bonapart2CV: Maybe you could demonstrate it at the next World Meeting! Anyway it's great to have you hosting this website page for us ChefRon - what do you think of the idea?
ChefRon: I'm really looking forward to it - particularly since I used to own a Dyane years ago. It seems to me that outdoors cooking goes naturally with owning a 2CV - and has done ever since the car was first made. I mean, that business of being able to take the seats out so easily for picnicking says it all!
Bonapart2CV: Well that's right. In fact the car also has this kind of inspirational quality - it's almost saying 'C'mon! Let's GO somewhere!' which sends owners adventuring, going on 'Raids' and camping…
ChefRon: ….and therefore cooking outdoors….
Bonapart2CV: ..yes, worldwide, all the year round. Was your Dyane inspirational to you, by the way?
ChefRon: Well the colour wasn't! It always reminded me of the time our dog had diarrhoea. But yes, it was an exceptional vehicle. 1969 model I think. Bought it for fifty quid from a nice guy who had never thought to top up the oil. I put in a second-hand engine and it became a terrific workhorse for me.
Bonapart2CV: The bit about your dog has put me off thinking about food now but can you tell us what your web page is going to be like?
ChefRon: Sorry about that! Very simple really - basically a two-way thing with 2CV owners. I'll be posting cooking tips and recipes plus occasional features - and the 'Deuchistes' ..I think that's right.. will be encouraged to share their tips and recipes with each other by e-mailing them to menus@bonapart2CV.com
Bonapart2CV: Sounds good! Can't wait to try some new recipes myself. I must also find out the name of your Dyane's paint colour…what colour was the upholstery?
ChefRon: Brown.
Bonapart2VC: I see….. Right! Over to you ChefRon…………….
